This free one-day workshop will give you an understanding of how the public sector recruits and prepare you for the standard assessment tests they use.
There's a huge range of different jobs available in the many services that make up the public sector - from office worker roles such as Administrative or Clerical Officers and IT staff to Paramedics, An Garda Siochana and the defence forces.
It's worth noting that these kinds of tests are also used by some private companies such as well-known supermarket chains.
The workshop will cover:
- Public service recruitment overview
- Verbal reasoning
- Abstract reasoning
- Personality questionnaires
- Numerical reasoning
- Clerical checking
- Introduction to competency-based interviews
To take part you must be living in specific parts of Bray, Delgany, Greystones, Kilcoole, Kilmacanogue, Newcastle North or Newtownmountkennedy and belong to one of these groups:
- Distadvantaged young person aged 15-24
- Unemployed person
- Low Income worker
- Disadvantaged Family
- Lone parent
- New community
- Person living in a disadvantaged area
- Person with a disability
- Disadvantaged children and families
- Disadvantaged women
- Substance misusers
