Free evening workshop for community & voluntary groups: Good Governance: the Role of the Committee - Monday 12th March, Royal Hotel, Bray - from 6-9pm in Bray.

The workshop will be delivered by Mairead O'Connor from the Wheel.

Good Governance: The Role of the Committee

Whether your governing body is called the committee, the board or the core group, the most important thing for members of this body to understand is their role in the organisation.

Join us for a practical and relevant session exploring the roles and responsibilities of those of us who sit on the committee.

Over the course of the session we'll look at:

  •          What is the role of the governing body/committee in our organisation
  •          What does “Good Governance” look like in the Community and Voluntary sector
  •          What tools we can use to improve our governance structures and practice
  •          What new regulations do we need to be aware of as committee members

Who should attend: Anyone who is a member of a governing body (board, committee, management committee etc.) of a community, voluntary or charity organisation. Or anyone who is thinking of joining such a body. The group must be based in either Bray, Delgany, Greystones, Kilcoole, Kilmacanogue or Newcastle Lower.
