Bray Area Partnership’s Warmer Homes free home insulation scheme has now expanded its qualifying criteria to include home owners in receipt of Domiciliary Care Allowance.
That means that even more low income home owners living in Wicklow and surrounding areas can now qualify for free home insulation. It's easy to apply and services include attic insulation, draught-proofing, cavity wall insulation, lagging jackets and CFL bulbs.
To qualify for the scheme:
- you must own and live in your own home and
- your home must have been constructed before 2006; and
- you must also be in receipt of one of the following: Fuel Allowance; Family Income Supplement; One Parent Family Payment; Domicilary Care Allowance; or Job Seekers Allowance for more than six months, with a child aged under seven years
The scheme has insulated more than 700 homes since its set-up and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with satisfied customers saying they found the workers friendly, professional, tidy and (most importantly!) they cleaned up after themselves.
The Bray Area Partnership Warmer Homes scheme is supported by the Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
