Celebrating our volunteers!

We celebrated and thanked some of our wonderful Fáilte Isteach conversational English class volunteer tutors with a lunch in Bray recently.

The lunch gave us the chance also to mark Jigsaw Wicklow's #OneGoodCommunity month, where they've ask the community to join with them to highlight their Five a Day For Your Mental Health: Connect With Others; Be Active; Take Notice; Keep Learning; and this week's focus Give.

Adam Burke, from Jigsaw Wicklow, talked about the importance of One Good Community in supporting young people and praised the great example of giving that the volunteers showed by their work teaching conversational English to people from new communities and our Ukrainian friends living in Bray.

The County Wicklow Volunteer Centre was also thanked for the great work they do in matching up volunteers with opportunities in the community.

Our Fáilte Isteach project provides conversational English classes in the community in Greystones/Kilcoole and Bray, and classes specifically for Ukrainian refugees in Enniskerry and Kilmacanogue - find our more on our Fáilte Isteach page. This work is funded under our SICAP programme.
